Physical Health Education
In the FUN room ,we have been learning about healthy choices and being safe. Our learners completed hula hoop challenges and stations for balance, coordination, power and proprioception. We also looked at food choices through yoga and The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle.
Please ensure your child has a water bottle and appropriate footwear (trainers only - no crocs or sandals are allowed) on PHE days.
Our older learners continued with health-related fitness classes. Years 2 and 3 pushed themselves with bronze, silver and gold challenges. Year 4 reflected on the elements of well-being and body systems. Years 5 and 6 tested their current abilities and set goals to improve specific components of their fitness.

At Nexus Aquatics, our young learners start off learning through play using guided discovery. We make lessons fun and enjoyable through sensory play. The use of colourful toys with different textiles and shapes aids in stimulating the brain through visual and physical touch.
The freedom of movement in the water encourages the range of motion of the limbs to improve both fine and gross motor skills for our learners. Buoyancy in water, which acts against gravity, eliminates impact, ensuring good joint health too.
