Our Kindergarten learners are excited to share their learning in their upcoming Mini Exhibition. This term we have explored the Central Idea: Plants and living things need each other. This Unit of Inquiry has been very engaging, from planting potatoes to baking our own bread. The children have been particularly enthusiastic about collecting and growing seeds that they have found in different fruits and vegetables. Please join us on Thursday, 14 March from 9am to 10am to find out about the structure and growth of a plant, the connections between plants and their environment and why we need plants. We look forward to seeing you there.
Our little Nursery Eco Warriors are looking forward to welcoming you to our Mini Exhibition. Our Central Idea: People can reduce, reuse and recycle waste has showed that our learners have genuine concern for our planet. We are so proud of their achievements and focus as we hear of their experiences in helping to reduce the waste we produce. They have thoroughly enjoyed exploring ways in which we can reduce and recycle waste and our upcycling projects have kept the children very engaged and excited about this Unit of Inquiry. Please join us on Friday, 15 March from 9am-10am to celebrate your child's learning. (Grandparents and young siblings very welcome.) We are looking forward to seeing you there.
Our Year 11 - 13 learners who are part of the Support 65 group this year are organising a week dedicated to an awareness of Mental Health. Last year was a real success. So this year they are using the week to educate and promote an understanding of these conditions for everyone in the Nexus Community. The theme is "Surprises and Shocks" as poor Mental Health often appears unannounced and unwanted. There will be activities for both Primary and Secondary learners to experience during the week. And everyone in the school, teachers and learners, will not know what it will be until that day!
Get ready, Book Week is just about here!
This year our fabulous theme is 'The Enchanted Forest'. The week is full of exciting and engaging activities that the learners will experience both in the library and their classrooms. We have Mystery Readers each morning, Guest Readers and activities at lunchtime in the library, the Book Fair Sale, a Book Swap and our favourite book character dress up day. Please check the following days to ensure your child does not miss out on the fun!
The IB Art exhibition is a real point of celebration, as it marks the end of the IB Diploma Visual Art course. If you have an interest in Visual Art then please do come along and celebrate the success and hard work of our learners. The Opening Night of the second exhibition will be an opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their artwork with them!
The Opening Night starts from 4:30pm on 13th March. General opening is from 8:30am to 4:30pm on Thursday and Friday if you would like to view the works.
Congratulations to our IB artists!
