Primary Learning Summaries published on Monday, 13 June
Primary learners are not encouraged to bring mobile phones, smart watches or electronic devices to school.
Some children bring these devices in order to communicate with parents on their journeys to and from school.
All devices must be given to homeroom teachers at the start of the day. They will be kept in a locked cupboard and returned at the end of the day. If a child needs to contact a parent/guardian during the school day they will be asked to go to Learner Services, where a member of staff will make the call on their behalf.
Masks
Whilst restrictions are relaxing learners still need to wear masks in all indoor spaces. (except when involved in sports or eating/drinking).
Please ensure your child's mask:
fits well
is clean
is comfortable
We also request your child brings a spare mask to school in their bag every day, in named ziplock bag (or similar).
CAT4 Assessments
Next week our Year 6 learners will be completing their CAT4 (cognitive abilities test) assessments in preparation for their transition to Secondary.
No preparation is needed, the assessment involves "thinking about shapes and patterns (Non-Verbal Reasoning), words (Verbal Reasoning), numbers (Quantitative Reasoning) and some questions are answered by mentally generating and transforming visual images (Spatial Ability)."
