Please feel free to invite family and friends to come and watch the performance. No tickets are required. We are excited this term as we are inviting some Year 7 classes to join in with the concert repertoire from their class as well as joining our choirs and orchestra in the finale.
The concert will take place in the Auditorium starting at 6.30pm. However all learners are required to be back in school, waiting in the Music Pod by 6pm so we can tune instruments and/or warm up our voices together.

Nexus Beats is one of the highlight of our music calendar. It is open to both solo vocalists, DJ's and rock bands; taking place on Thursday 13th February 2025.
The event is predominantly learner led with musicians selecting and rehearsing their songs; choosing a band name and logo; discussing with AV regarding backdrops for the LED screens and lighting affects for the performance.
We invite external guests to watch the show and learners previously have been invited to professionally record their song with Songworks International in their studio or perform at their events. Successful acts have gone on to perform at outside venues such as Blackbird Restaurant/Bar and Timbre+ as well as celebrate music at Nexus through our internal platforms.
This year it is going to be even bigger and even better! However as we keep expanding we are now breaking the submission into Round 1 and Round 1.
Round 1 will be a video submitted for us to view/vent (music@nexus.edu.sg)
Round 2 is the live performance
Round 1 deadline is the final day of term 2; giving you 8 weeks to rehearse, perfect and video!

Our year 5 classes will be embarking on an exciting journey to Parliament House, a place where the laws that shape Singapore as a country are made. We will set off on a public transport adventure, planning our route together. With the help of our chaperones, our learners will navigate the city to reach this iconic building. Once there, they will embark on a guided tour, learning about the important roles of our Members of Parliament and how they work together to make decisions for Singapore.
To ensure a smooth entry, we will require photocopy of your child's passport. We will ask for this at a later date, where you can upload it via a form. Learners will also need to pack a snack to keep them fuelled for this exciting day!
This excursion will be a fantastic opportunity to learn more about how the Singapore government works and to appreciate the importance of civic engagement. We can't wait to explore this fascinating place together!
Further information will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.
