Hiring Instruments
The School possesses some of the above instruments which are available for hire for a one year period. This gives learners an opportunity to test their skills and interest, and delays the purchase of an instrument. However after this period, should the learner develop an interest to study further, parents are expected to purchase an instrument.
Please note that hired instruments are the parents’ responsibility. This includes any damage or loss. Instruments not available to hire are: violin, viola, piano, guitar, ukulele and drum kit. If you wish to hire an instrument please complete the hire form and return it to Learner Services.
CCAs
We have an array of music ensembles which our learners can participate in throughout the year which lead into many of our high profile concerts and performances.
Progress
Learners are expected to practise daily
Regular instrument practice is important for the development of a musician
More information on how to practise and the duration of practise will be provided by instrumental instructors
An Instrumental Practice diary will be provided to all learners
Parents should liaise directly with teachers rather than an administrator to engage in their child’s learning on a more personal level
Communication With Teachers
While all of our teachers offer private tuition and work free-lance around Singapore, our new Instrumental Program enhances the communication between learner, parent and teacher. Email communication is encouraged to discuss progress as well as completing an Instrumental practice diary weekly.
Clipboard Scheduling Platform
The instrumental programme utilises the Clipboard platform to manage lesson scheduling as well as correspondence and communication. Learners & parents will be introduced to this app upon enrolment via an introductory email.
The music department works as a link between parent and teacher. They will communicate with both sides to setup the instrumental lessons and assist where necessary any changes to the timetable. We will also be on hand to support the learners and assist parents with daily queries.
