Our resident tutors are highly skilled freelance musicians who are experienced in working with children at international schools. They are orchestral players, jazz musicians, rock and pop artists.
Our tutors are available on email to discuss your child’s progress and will have an instrumental practice diary to enhance communication between child, parent and tutor. Here are some of the talented tutors in our programme.
Drums & Percussion
With 9 years of drum-teaching experience, Brendan has a unique background of both classical and contemporary music. He is simply passionate about drums and keen on providing guidance! After performing at Zildjian Day 2015 and Light to Night Festival 2018, his interest has since shifted from Rock to Latin-American music.
Voice, Songwriting
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Dylan relocated to London early in his career and immediately gained local recognition fronting some of the top show bands in the U.K. at venues including The Royal Albert Hall, Alexandra Palace, Grosvenor House, The Savoy, and The Ritz. He then went on to spend eight years as a key member of one of the world’s most famous a cappella groups, Flying Pickets. The group spawned the global number one hit song, “Only You”. Dylan is featured as a lead vocalist, composer and arranger on three of the Flying Pickets’ ten albums.
A globally renowned vocal coach and certified Speech Level Singing® instructor, Dylan is a student of legendary vocal maestros Seth Riggs (voice coach to Michael Jackson) and Greg Enriquez (voice coach to Celine Dion). Dylan’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Music (first class honours) in Vocal Performance from Goldsmiths’ College/University of London and an Associate Diploma of Vocal/Instrument Teaching (with distinction) from Trinity College of London U.K. He is currently in the process of completing a masters degree in education.
Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn (Brass)
Erica Goh graduated from The Royal College of Music, London (RCM) with a Masters of Science in Performance Science. Driven by a passion for musician’s health and well-being, her master's research delves into the impact of physical activity amongst musicians. Specifically, exploring how implementing consistent physical activity in a musician’s life could influence their overall experiences as a musician.
Being an active performer, Erica also holds a Bachelors of Music (Honors) in Euphonium Performance. She completed her degree at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester (RNCM), under the tutelage of Geneva and Denis Wick Artist, Dr. David Thornton. Prior to her studies abroad, she pursued a Diploma in Music Performance at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore (NAFA).
Currently as a music educator, her aspiration is to consistently inspire young musicians by fostering positive learning and performance experiences. She is a firm advocate of musician health & wellbeing, and she aims to raise awareness towards both music students and professionals alike; to develop their awareness of their health and wellbeing throughout their musical journey in order to reach their fullest potential.
Guitar, Ukulele, Bass
Ernesto Castillo, a skilled guitarist born and raised in the Cuban countryside, embarked on his musical journey shaped by the vibrant rhythms of Afro-Cuban music—a result of the syncretism between African and Spanish cultures that forms the core of Cuban heritage. From his earliest days, he was immersed in Cuba’s rich cultural landscape, and this foundation would serve as the bedrock for his distinctive sound.
Over time, Ernesto has expanded this foundation through the lens of Jazz, blending his roots with his growth as an artist. His performances reflect the union of heritage and limitless musical expression that defines his unique style.
Throughout his career, Ernesto has had the honour of opening for Grammy-winning legends such as Gregory Porter, Earth, Wind & Fire, and the iconic Cuban diva Omara Portuondo. His performances have resonated with audiences across the globe, showcasing his mastery of the guitar and his deep connection to the music he creates. In addition to performing at prestigious events like the International Guitar Festival, he has graced the stages of prominent jazz festivals in Asia and celebrated cultural music festivals such as Fringe Australia.
Ernesto has been a part of Adam Hall and the Cuban Young Guns, a show that has received numerous accolades at the Music & Musicals Weekly Awards across multiple years. He also participated in the Flamenco y Cuba production, produced by Aire Flamenco, which received a glowing five-star review in 2025.

FRINGE WORLD
Voice
Felicia Teo is an award-winning soprano who has performed internationally, including at the Carnegie Hall, the Tilles Center, and at prestigious events such as a state banquet in Singapore for the President of Indonesia. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and the University of Wales, she has sung leading opera roles and appeared as a soloist in major works like Handel’s Messiah and Britten’s Les Illuminations. With over a decade of teaching experience, Felicia has coached students to outstanding results in ABRSM and Trinity exams, as well as in musical theatre productions including Seussical and The King and I. She is known for nurturing versatile, confident singers through a strong foundation in healthy vocal technique.
Drums & Percussion
Zi is a versatile percussionist, drummer, and educator whose career reflects both international distinction and a deep commitment to music education. Trained in orchestral and concert percussion, Zi served as Principal Percussionist and Percussion Group Leader with the Singapore Armed Forces Central Band for 15 years, performing on world stages across China, Japan, Germany, Sweden, Russia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
Zi is equally accomplished on the drum set, where his versatility has led to collaborations with local and international artists, including performances alongside Rich Brian and 88Rising. His breadth of experience highlights his ability to move seamlessly between the precision of classical percussion and the energy of contemporary drumming.
Recognised for his expertise, Zi is one of the founding members of The Society of International Rudimental Drummers, representing Singapore among a distinguished global community of percussionists. He is an active clinician, giving masterclasses and workshops to various schools, institutions and conservatories.
Zi has also served as Conductor for several Percussion Ensembles in Singapore. Zi is also proud to be an artist with Prologix Percussion, a leading brand in practice and performance tools for drummers worldwide. He has also conducted several percussion ensembles in Singapore.
Beyond performance, Zi is the founder and owner of Arrows Music, a boutique school in the heart of Singapore.
Guitar, Ukulele, Bass, Percussion
Hiroaki Maekawa, better known as Hiro, is an active musician and passionate educator who has been teaching guitar, bass, drums and ukulele full time in Singapore since 2010. As a musician, Hiro has performed and collaborated with artists from all over the world including Sonny Turner and The Platters (USA), Rick Sheppard and The Drifters (USA), Jayesslee (Australia), Takahiro Miyazaki (Japan), Joanna Dong (Singapore) and many more.
Violin, Viola, Cello
Jayne Lee is a violinist, conductor, music arranger & author. She is also the co-founder of Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) Music Interest Group and founder of SUSS Philharmonic orchestra.
With 20 years wealth of teaching experience, Jayne has a proven track record of grooming young students to complete their Grade 8 exams at a very young age. Their accelerated learning is a hallmark of Jayne Lee Violin programme. Her students have won prizes in local and international competitions, and have been featured in the International Strings magazine The Strad & The Straits Times Newspaper.
Jayne has a Bachelor of Music Education and is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Arts and Cultural Leadership. Besides playing music, Jayne also enjoys photography and wine appreciation.
Piano
A holder of a Master's Degree in Music Psychology in Education from the University of Sheffield, Jennifer Lee’s primary research areas are in the fields of creativity, motivation, and cognition on notation-reading in music learning. Jennifer is both an avid musician and a dedicated music educator with a rich and varied musical experience. These experiences range from performances and competitions with choirs and orchestras to productions in operas, musicals, and accompanying on the piano for singers and instrumentalists.
Her field of specialisation in education includes pedagogical methods customised accordingly to the student’s needs and musical preferences. No stranger to innovations in music education, she also aims to bridge the gap between conventional and contemporary teaching methods. Jennifer’s work as a music educator has brought her to schools, teaching a varied range of musical fields in music theory, creative composition, and the piano. In addition, she also nurtures and grooms her students through recitals and workshops, exposing them to other musical interests.
Jennifer also holds a Bachelor of Science in Management with Honours from the University of London, as well as both a Certificate and Diploma in Teaching from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Her deep dedication to music education is well reflected by her constant drive to explore, examine and apply effective pedagogical methods into her teaching.
Cello
Shan began playing the cello at the age of ten, and graduated from Singapore’s Yong Siew Toh Conservatory in 2017. She has performed with and led the cello sections of the award-winning Singaporean orchestras, such as Orchestra of the Music Makers (OMM), and Singapore National Youth Orchestra (SNYO) which led her to perform in various music festivals across the UK, Europe, US, and Asia.
As a multi-genre cellist, Shan is frequently invited to curate, strategize and play for brands such as Rolex, Chopard, Jaeger-Le Coultre, Van Cleef and Arpels, Cartier and events like the Formula One Grand Prix and the inauguration of Singapore’s current President. This includes productions across all art-forms, while working alongside many international and local artistes.
With a rich history in performance, Shan was selected by National Arts Council as the only Singapore representative for the Russo-ASEAN Orchestra in their 2019 instalment and has also performed in the orchestra for Les Misérables International Tour, Hamilton the Musical, Michael Bublé World Tour to name a few.
Shan has been teaching since 2012, both privately and in schools. She believes in individually crafted programmes to suit keen-learners of all ages, grades and background. As an active musician Singapore’s performing arts scene, Shan would like to continue working towards building the next generation of cellists in Singapore.
Violin, Piano
May teaches the piano and violin. She is a Bachelor degree holder in Music Performance and Master degree holder in Arts and Culture Management. She studied under the tutelage of renown virtuoso – Vladimir Markovic (Serbia) and Elizaveta Grushina (Russia).
She is active in various chamber ensemble playing and orchestra in Europe, such as the Russian State Social Orchestra and music festivals in Moscow and Belgrade etc. She also made a recital appearance on Slobomir national TV.
Piano, Violin, Voice
Described by Alexey Sokolov as “a deep and sensitive musician with noble, delicate tone quality”, Singaporean pianist Yi Kai Sim was unanimously awarded the Second Prize in the Open Category at the 2006 International IBLA Piano Competition by an international panel of professors from Russia, Italy, and Japan. As a student of Ong Lip Tat and Lena Ching, Kai received the NAFA scholarship and a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from the University of Wales. Graduate fellowships paved the way to a Masters in Music degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In a highly specialized field, he studied both collaborative piano and solo piano under acclaimed pianists Robert Koenig and Paul Berkowitz.
Kai was invited as an artist for the Fall Island Vocal Arts Seminar in New York, working with renowned mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe and pianist-composer Alan Smith. As an opera répétiteur, he took on the triple role of assistant conductor, vocal coach, and continuo harpsichordist in the entire production of Rossini's The Barber of Seville. As a collaborative pianist, Yi Kai has performed in a series of chamber recitals with international prize-winning soloists such as Lim Yan, Hidehiro Fujita, Jacek Mirucki, and Pascal Saloman.
Kai has collaborated in two sold-out recitals at the Singapore Esplanade with prize-winning Yale violinist and concertmaster of the Orchestra of the Music Makers, Edward Tan. Their dynamic partnership was described as “equal, with both opportunities for each to shine” by the Straits Times newspaper.
Piano
From the United Kingdom, Tim initially studied piano with Naomi Joan Boyd (LRAM). Having developed an interest in jazz at the tender age of 12, he then went on to study music full time at Cricklade College, Andover for 1 year and then 3 years at the City of Leeds College of Music participating in their jazz course. Clutching his GDLM cert to his chest, Tim rushed out into the big wide world and spent the next 4 years playing full time with his jazz trio in Europe, North Africa and Asia.
Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute (Woodwind)
Vincent is a woodwind instructor specialising in clarinet, saxophone, and flute. Fascinated by the sound of these woodwind instruments, he joined the school band when he was 11. He went on to study in Ohio University, USA, where he graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance.
He started his professional career with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra as a clarinetist, a position he held for 22 years. Currently, he performs regularly with the Orchestra of the Music Makers, Singapore Lyric Opera Orchestra, Metropolitan Festival Orchestra as Principal clarinetist, and serves multiple woodwind roles in various musical shows.
Aside from performing, he is an adjunct lecturer in Singapore Raffles Music College, assistant conductor in the ACS International School wind band, and instructor with the Singapore National Youth Orchestra. He is excited to help learners explore woodwind instruments, and he is dedicated to giving useful tips, especially for the advanced players.
