Nexus will be the first venue in Singapore to host the Modern Employers Event on 31st August from 6.15pm - 7.30pm. I was keen to bring the event to Singapore after attending in Hong Kong and being inspired when I heard how many companies are recruiting. It's not all about the degree you have! Come along and hear speakers from Google, Credit Suisse amongst others. This event is relevant to educators, parents and older learners and is run by the Young Founders School. It is not to be missed! Scan the QR code to guarantee your space.
The Young Founders School (YFS) aims to educate, connect and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs by helping them to identify and develop a business start-up idea. Enthusiastic learners who have an interest in running their own business one day will be given the opportunity to attend two free events hosted by YFS: Ideation Day and a Weekend Bootcamp.
The next Ideation Day will be held on Thursday 30th August from 5.30-7.30pm and aims to provide learners with a foundation in the key entrepreneurial skills they will need to be successful with their business start-up ideas.
The next Weekend Bootcamp will be held on Saturday and Sunday 8/9 September from 8am – 6pm and will provide learners with the opportunity to develop their business ideas by linking them with mentors from the business community. The Weekend Bootcamp will culminate in a business pitch which involves learners presenting their business ideas to a group of experienced and successful entrepreneurs from the business community. The winning pitch stands to win $1,000 to put towards developing their business idea into a real business.
To participate learners need to be aged between 12 to 17 years old and be able to commit fully to both the Ideation Day and the Weekend Bootcamp. For further information or to sign up please contact the Nexus Subject Leader for Business and Economics, Caroline de Kock, on dekock.c@nexus.edu.sg.
