A gentle reminder that Term 2 starts on TUESDAY, 24 October.
8 weeks
Tuesday, 24 October - Friday, 15 December
Staff Professional Learning Day - Monday, 23 October 2023 (school closed to learners)
IBDP Options Evening - Thursday 2nd November, 6pm to 8pm (Aimed at Year 11 learners and families but all welcome)
IGCSE Options Evening - Wednesday 8th November, 6pm to 8pm (Aimed at Year 9 learners and families but all welcome)
Deepavali - Monday, 13 November (school closed - public holiday)
We are glad to see the pick up arrangements for primary learners are going much more smoothly now.
Please be aware we are not able to supervise learners after school hours, as a result all unaccompanied learners must leave the school site at the end of the school day.
We run many, many sporting activities and matches after school and love having supporters for them, you are welcome to accompany your primary learner to watch these events and activities.
If you are staying on site after school we respectfully ask that you:
Actively monitor and are close to your child at all times
Keep your child from climbing on school fixtures, fittings and equipment (such as fire hose boxes, stair rails, sports equipment etc)
Watch fixtures and matches from the level 2 walkway
Ensure your child does not interfere with the sports and activities being played, by being on the field side of the netting
We appreciate your cooperation.
Dear Parents and Guardians
Learning conferences are a valuable opportunity for parents to get feedback on their child's progress in school. At Nexus we are always looking forward to seeing how we can provide a better customer journey.
The following survey should take no more than 5 minutes
At Chartwells, we are committed to serving up happy and healthy meals. We believe that the key to our delicious meals is our genuine passion for crafting nourishing dishes for the school community. We value your feedback, and that's why we're conducting a survey to gain insights into your expectations and discover ways to enhance your dining experience. Your feedback is invaluable in guiding our continuous improvement efforts.

Dear Parents,
Pret-a-Portrait is pleased to announce that school photographs are now available to view and choose from.
Please take a moment to go to our website – www.pret-a-portrait.net – and view all the lovely images. You would be able to find the Sitting ID in the card that was given out during the photoshoot. If you cannot find the card, a follow-up reminder will be issued in the first week of Term 2.
Queries and questions should be directed to our Pret-A-Portrait Customer Service team at customerservice@pret-a-portrait.sg who will be happy to assist you.
Warm regards,
The Team at Pret-a-Portrait
We will be holding options evenings for the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Courses Programme (IBDP) and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE programme). These will be face to face sessions on campus where parents, guardians and learners will be given an overview of the programmes and the subjects available. Please join us to learn more about how parents and guardians can help with subject selections. There will be an opportunity to discuss subjects with our subject specialist teachers and learners studying the subjects. More details will be released in the coming weeks.

All classes/year groups have a WhatsApp Group. We are a school that prides itself on our strong community relationships and these WhatsApp Groups will allow you to build friendships between families in each class.
What these WhatsApp Groups are:
A place for families to come together to arrange social activities (e.g. parties, play dates, coffee mornings and evening drinks)
A place for occasional reminders (e.g. remembering Dress Up Days!)
What these WhatsApp Groups aren't:
A school communication channel (we will continue to share all school information via the fortnightly Newsletters, school emails and our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/NexusSchoolSG/) - please do make sure you read these to find out all that is going on in school
A place for discussing individual learners or staff members
A place to raise issues (we welcome all feedback and encourage you to contact us directly with any concerns you have so that we can help to resolve them)
We are delighted that a large group of parents have agreed to help to administer these WhatsApp Groups. The Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) does not allow us to share your personal information with them so we are not able to automatically add you to the appropriate WhatsApp Group.
If you would like to join this informal class group, please contact Learner Services (learnerservices@nexus.edu.sg) and they will be able to support you.
Once again, thanks to all the parents for supporting our school community. We are sure that you will find this informal social network very valuable throughout the year.
