When to register for the Award

Listen out for announcements in the Learner Bulletin or in assemblies. We will let you know when we are accepting new registrations.

How to register for the Award

When you have paid the registration fee currently $90 for Bronze or $95 for Gold, please create a Participant Account at https://www.onlinerecordbook.org/fo/. Be sure to select our school, and to choose ‘electronic parental consent’ when signing up. Once you have signed up, your parent or guardian will be emailed a link where they can check your information and confirm your application. One of our team then checks and approves your application and you are ready to start!

Choosing and selecting activities; Skill, Service and Physical Recreation

The range of activities is not limited to what is on offer at school. However, it is important that you select an activity which you will be able to continue for 3 or 6 months (Bronze) or 12 or 18 months (Gold). Please see the requirements section for more information about this. For any activity, you are required to find an assessor, who will be help you set initial targets for your activity. She or he will help monitor your participation and progress and write a short report on your progress, dedication and the impact of your activity.

Setting SMART goals

The goal that you set yourself must be SMART; Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and over the correct length of time. Spend some time agreeing this target with your activity assessor before submitting your proposal online.

Recording your weekly activity log

Each time that you do your activity (for example one hour per week, or two hours every two weeks) you are required to write a short description and reflection online. It is also possible to upload a photo, which will help demonstrate your progress (for example in an art or craft based activity) or record matches played in a sport. You may find it easiest to do this using a mobile phone and the ORB App, which can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store.

Visual progress towards completing the Award

Each time you submit an activity, you will see your progress in the coloured bar. When you have done your activity for the minimum required length of time, you will see a button to request a report from your activity assessor.
