We are a community of passionate educators and coaches with a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
Long before the first CoachUP, Russell and Steve were sharing their coaching in education experiences and spreading the word of how it was transforming their school professional development and culture. Meetings between Steve, Sarah C and others were sporadic and each time the idea of sharing coaching with a wider group was spoken of. Then COVID19 hit and talks stopped as we all figured out how to work in this new world.
Russell and Steve persisted and the first CoachUP was created and organised online in 2021, with over 60 participants and eight presenters. Sarah C, Sarah A and Flora joined after and we were able to return to face-to-face events. As CoachUP got bigger we grew again with Sam, Paula and now Paul joining the Core Crew.
We are continuing to grow and the journey continues!

SJI International
Russell is a father first and uses his spare time to try his hand at teaching science and coaching colleagues in school. A science teacher at SJI International since 2008, he trained with CTI as a coach, completing the core curriculum in 2011, and has accumulated a few hundred coaching-hours both within and without the school since 2011. He was part of setting up the Professional Coaching Programme at SJI International in 2014, running week-to-week matters, and helping implement the long-term strategy for coaching in the school. One of his goals is to develop models of implementing coaching in schools which are both cost-effective and tailored to the needs of a school.
