Rehearsal Calendar

Rehearsal Rules

Performance with Next Step Dance Kodiak is a privilege, not a requirement. Attendance at all scheduled rehearsals is required for performance unless arranged with Next Step Dance ahead of time. Not only is it important for each individual student to get used to their placement on stage, it is important for their classmates to have each other on stage to work on spacing, timing, and teamwork. In order to make the recital a rewarding experience for our hard working students, any student or entire class who misses numerous rehearsals may be removed from the recital at the Director’s discretion.

● Rehearsals are mandatory.

● Parents or guardian should remain with their dancer at the auditorium until they are dismissed.

● No eating or drinking is allowed in the seating area of auditorium. It is a privilege to be able to use this facility, and we need to respect it and keep it clean for others as well. Dancers can eat backstage in the waiting area, or in the green room.

● In addition to their costume for certain rehearsals, have your student wear a size large adult t-shirt or a button-down shirt over their costumes while they are waiting during rehearsals and performance.

● Bring a water bottles labeled with your dancer’s name. Avoid juice boxes or other sticky beverages. Do not send your child to the dress rehearsal or recital with snacks or beverages that could stain their costumes. Crackers, energy bars, apples, carrot sticks, and string cheese are good choices. And never chocolate bars!

● Medication must be sent in a labeled container, in a clear ziploc bag. The Medication container must be labeled with Student Name, Parent/Guardian Contact info, and clear instructions for administering medication.

● Put recital items (i.e. shoes, extra hair pins, hair piece) in a bag labeled with your dancers name.
