In this Unit...
We will prepare for your college admissions by discussing the process and writing a Personal Statement based off of the Common Application questions for 2018-2019. As we craft these statements, we will also prepare for the upcoming units by reading two chapters from Tyson and practice using theory on modern texts.
Core skills
1) Write about yourself in a meaningful, unique fashion.
2) Read and critique other student writing.
3) Begin discovering a writing process that is helpful to your specific needs.
Essential Questions
1) What does learning look like in the classroom? What does learning look like outside of school Should one be prioritized over the other?
2) What does it mean for you to be a lifelong learner?
3) How can you best benefit from a college education?
4) What ideologies are present underneath the American college system? How are these ideologies beneficial or harmful to you?
