This series builds on the work and community begun in prior school years. Each session includes time for reviewing school-wide Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and culture goals. Later sessions include time in Problem of Practice groups with other schools experiencing similar challenges.
We focus on how to engage educators, build buy-in and adult SEL skills, and plan for the year using their school's SEL/school culture goals.
We explore ways to incorporate an equity lens into SEL and school culture work, with a particular emphasis on strengthening student voice.
We engage in a deep-dive into student discipline and SEL, including how restorative practices help build social-emotional skills and can be considered a trauma-informed approach.
We reflect on progress during the year towards SEL/school culture goals and will make connections between SEL and postsecondary success.
