We accept all students through a randomized lottery. We do not require or consider exams, essays or interviews as part of admissions, and we welcome English language learners and students with special needs to apply. Applying to a charter school does not affect your Department of Education high school application.

Admissions Criteria:

Current 8th graders entering 9th grade the following school year (must successfully meet the NYC 8th grade graduation requirements to enroll)
Current 9th graders entering 10th grade the following school year (must have eligible credits to enroll)

Advanced Math & Science Schools

Do you want to learn more about engineering, medicine, research and forensics? One of our Advanced Math & Science schools might be right for you.

Humanities Schools

If you are interested in learning more about politics, law, public service, education, the arts, or media, then consider applying to one of our Humanities schools.

AIM Transfer Schools

Our AIM schools are open to students who are at least 16 years old, have completed 7th grade, and are at least one grade-level behind. These schools are ideal for students who have previously struggled in school and may be at risk of dropping out of school.
