About Me
Hello! My name is Sara Wasley and I live right here in Newtown. I started off in education as a 7th grade Language Arts teacher, at the helm of creating the writing and research curriculum for my school, as well as running many literary clubs. Realizing that I could pursue even more of what I loved in education through the library, I went back to school for my certification.
I have been a middle school library media specialist, as well as an elementary library media specialist right in town at Hawley.
I am blessed to drive in every day with my daughters, Stella (6th grader) and Cecilia (5th grader), while my kindergartener, Savannah, heads to Hawley. At the end of a full day of sports and fun, we love getting home to talk about the day with Justin, my husband, and our golden retriever, Dublin. When not at the library, our family loves traveling, paddleboarding, hiking, biking, basically anything outside. When it’s raining, we turn to cooking, crafts and of course reading.
My fav intermediate read recently is: Planet Earth is Blue by Nicole Panteleakos and my fav adult read recently is The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.
Hope to meet you at the library soon! Thanks for all
your support of the library and our programming!
