Allyship presentation and Q&A: Allyship is an important topic for the LGBTQ+ community. While we have made some progress in societal perceptions and legal rights, the support of those outside of the community by speaking out for us and fighting for our rights alongside us continues to be necessary. Learn about what it means to be an ally and some simple do’s and don’ts.
LGBTQ+ Creators Panel: In recent years, there’s been a dramatic increase in both the quality and quantity of LGBTQ+ focused media. This wave has been led by a generation of LGBTQ+ artists, writers, and content creators; featuring their queer identities in their content and providing representation as we’ve never seen before. Come to this panel to meet some of those creators and learn about their inspirations, creations, and hopes for the future of LGBTQ+ media.

Gay Back in the Day Panel: As high schoolers, it can be hard to imagine what life was like for people our parents’ or even our grandparents’ age. Unsurprisingly, some of those people were LGBTQ+ with stories and experiences far different from ours. Join us in hearing the stories of LGBTQ+ people of all generations at Gay Back in the Day!
Sherry is a cis-gendered, white lesbian woman in her 70s. She grew up in the rural South before moving first to NYC and eventually to the Boston area. She is now an Art teacher at Day Middle School in Newton helped start the first middle school GSA. This interview was conducted on 3/22/21. Click here for video.
In the past few years, mental health has become a more regularly discussed topic both in and out of the LGBTQ+ community. A presentation followed by a Q&A will focus on how members of the LGBTQ+ community are more susceptible to struggles with mental health because of the discrimination and lack of support or acceptance they face on a daily basis.
