Polyester's main use is in food and drink packaging. Polyethylene Terephalate, also known as PET is 100% recycable. Recycling 200,000 more PET bottles can result in 800 million dollars for the US economy, as they can then be used to make more PET bottles. PET’s exceptional strength-to-weight ratio permits more product to be delivered with less packaging, and requiring less fuel to transport. PET bottles and containers are more durable and versatile than aluminum—and unlike glass, they’re shatter-resistant. Other common uses are jars, containers, and packaging applications. PET is the most recyclyed plastic in the US.
