Hello, My name is Gwenne Foreman. I have been working at Burr School since 2010 and as an English Language Learner teacher since 2014.
Prior to working in Newton, I worked with special needs students and English Language Learners in the Wayland Public Schools.
I was born and raised in the south shore of Massachusetts. After graduating from Simmons College and working as a Graphic/Industrial Designer for many years, I began teaching Hebrew and found that I was intrigued by the different ways children learn. This curiosity led me down the path to education and teaching English Language Learners. My husband and I have 3 children, one granddaughter and 2 big golden retrievers.
I feel very fortunate to be part of the Burr School and community. Feel free to email me anytime, click here!
Hello! My name is Amanda Borja and I have been an English Language Learner teacher at Burr since 2013.
I was born and raised in the north shore of Massachusetts. After I graduated college, I started volunteering at an organization that taught adults English, and I knew ELL was my calling! I went back to school and got my Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language from Simmons College.
At home, I have a 2 year old daughter and 2 dogs. My husband is a native Spanish speaker and we are raising our daughter to speak both English and Spanish.
I am so lucky to be a part of the Burr family. I love working with all of my students and the caring teachers here at Burr school!
