Meet the Teacher

Welcome to Science on Cluster 8F!

My name is Lauren Giguere, and I am thrilled to be spending my 17th teaching year on Cluster 8F!

Prior to joining the Bigelow family, I spent ten years teaching 7th and 8th grade science in the Southeast. During that time I earned a Masters degree in Special Education from Furman University, a Masters degree in School Leadership from Converse College, and National Board Certification in Young Adolescent Science.

I relocated to New England in 2013, and I am beyond excited to be teaching for a seventh year in Newton, the very same town where my grandparents grew up and attended public school!

In the classroom, I enjoy using a wide variety of activities and games to create a cooperative and engaging science learning community.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy running, supporting the Patriots, and spending time with my nieces and nephews (both human and canine).
