Class Information

Necessary Materials

  • A dedicated "Science Binder" (suggested size: 1")
  • Pen/pencil

Assessments

Assignments are scored using the following "total points" scale. Students can calculate their averages at any time by dividing total points earned by total points possible.

      • 10 Points (each) Classwork Assignments
      • 10 Points (each) Homework Assignments
      • 20 Points (each) Minor Projects/Mid-Unit Quizzes (always announced)
      • 30 Points (each) Major Projects/Unit Tests (always announced)

Extra Help

I'm always happy to help...all students have to do is ask! I am often available for drop-ins before school, after school, or during T-Time (with permission and a pass from the scheduled T-Time teacher). Scheduling an appointment ahead of time is the best way to be sure I will be available!

Extra Credit

A research-based extra credit project opportunity will be made available to students at the midpoint of each term. Though each term's project focus is different, the extra credit opportunity will always involve a thorough project proposal submitted for teacher approval by an established deadline and extensive effort outside of the regular science classroom commitment.
