What is the IB Diploma Program?
The IB Diploma Programme is a challenging two-year pre-university curriculum that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities.
The curriculum contains 6 subject groups divided into higher level (HL) and Standard level (SL).
Students choose 3 courses in HL and 3 courses in SL.
3 DP core components:
Creativity, activity, service (CAS)
The extended essay (EE)
Theory of knowledge (TOK)
Students receive a bilingual diploma out of 45 points:
Each course has a score out of 7 = 42 points total.
3 extra points for TOK/Extended Essay
Complete CAS expectations
The passing grade is 24 points in total and 12 points in total for HL courses.

What are the subject groups?
Group 1: Language and Literature (English, Español)
Group 2: Language acquisition (Español)
Group 3: Individuals and societies (Business Management, History, Economics, ESS and Psychology)
Group 4: Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, ESS, Design Technology, Computer Science)
Group 5: Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches / Application and Interpretation)
Group 6: The Arts (Artes Visuales, Música, Theatre)
¿How to choose?
Changes in Courses
Form V: Any changes at the start of the school year (two-week grace period) will be reviewed by an Academic Committee based on the following:
The subject change is within the same option group in the student's timetable.
The class size is below its maximum capacity.
Any changes will require authorisation and approval from the Heads of Department of the subjects involved.
Changes in course levels (NS or SL) must be approved by the Diploma Coordinator.
Form VI: Students will not be permitted to make any changes to courses/levels as they are completing the Diploma programme and preparing for their external examinations.
