  • Online Tutoring: Need help with an assignment? The University Learning Center is now offering virtual sessions. Make an appointment on their website and check out their digital resource library.

  • OpenStax: Select digital textbooks available for free.

  • Preparing for your Online Classes in Advance: Watch this five minute video to learn what you can do now to prepare for your online courses - test out the technology, gather your materials, and set up your learning space.

  • LinkedIn Learning: Use The New School’s free subscription to LinkedIn Learning to take free online courses relevant to your career and academic interests.

Technology Resources

  • Adobe: New School students can download the Adobe suite for free.

  • Assistive Technology Support: Tips and resources for students who need assistive technology accommodations

  • Canvas and Zoom tutorial videos: Familiarize yourself with these platforms as your instructors may use them to conduct their classes online.

  • Free Wifi: If you do not have internet access where you are, several companies are offering their services during the coronavirus outbreak.

  • Home Wifi Troubleshooting: If you're having trouble connecting to wireless internet in your living space, follow these tips from IT.

  • Krisp: Noise cancelling technology that eliminates background noise while you are speaking on video calls. Krisp is offering their service for free to all students for six months.

  • Read and Write Gold Support: YouTube link offering instructional videos on how to set up and use Read and Write Gold, Texthelp PDF Reader, and Screenshot Reader, new tools available via Chrome extensions to all students, faculty, and staff.

  • Student VPN Access: The New School’s VPN allows students to connect to The New School’s educational resources and secure off-campus access to global websites. Log into the student VPN page to download the VPN application.

  • Student Disability Services: Renew or Request academic accommodations for the current or future semesters, or a housing accommodation for Fall ‘20.
