Gallery Walk: May 7th, 2025 (Wednesday)
Presentation Day: May 8th, 2025 (Thursday)
On May 8th, each discussion group will present their projects to the class.
Attendance is mandatory for all students.
During the presentations, you’ll:
Explain your project to your peers.
Take questions from the audience.
Important:
The final project should reflect collaboration, engagement with course themes, and creative exploration of your chosen topic.
Focus on Feasibility
Start with an idea you can realistically complete within the timeframe and with available resources.
Consider your skills and group size—break large ideas into manageable components.
Be mindful of practical constraints like time, materials, and technology access.
Embrace Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Leverage the diverse skills and perspectives of your group members.
Use your collaborators’ strengths to complement your own. For example:
Someone skilled in research can gather material,
A designer can create visuals,
A writer can develop content, etc.
Brainstorm Creatively
Begin with open-ended questions:
What themes or concepts from the course resonate most with you?
How can you apply these to a real-world issue or creative exploration?
Don’t limit yourself during brainstorming—start big and narrow down as you refine your project.
Use Course Material Effectively
Draw inspiration from lectures, readings, and discussions.
Consider the key themes we’ve explored—how do they relate to your project?
Explicitly reference course materials to strengthen your rationale and show engagement with the class.
Attendance is crucial for meaningful participation and collaboration in this course. Please note the following:
Class Attendance:
Attendance at all discussion group sessions is mandatory.
If you need to miss a class for a valid reason (e.g., illness, emergency), please notify me in advance or as soon as possible.
While absences with a valid reason will be excused, frequent absences may affect your ability to contribute to group projects and could reflect in your participation grade.
Attendance at the Wednesday lectures is mandatory for everyone.
After each lecture, you are required to check in with me briefly to confirm your attendance. This will also be an opportunity to clarify any questions or receive guidance related to the course material.
If absences disrupt group work or communication, it may reflect negatively on your project contribution grade.
Please communicate proactively with your collaborators and me to minimize any impact.
If you have any questions about this policy or special circumstances that may require accommodations, feel free to reach out. I'm here to support your success in this course!
