Getting to know Mrs. Potter

Welcome to Middle School. I help kids to strenghten their reading skills to make reading more enjoyable.

About Mrs. Potter

This will be my 32nd year teaching at Newport! I've taught first grade, worked as an elementary reading specialist and a district literacy coach, and now, my absolute favorite, I teach middle school. I enjoy sports, especially basketball and football, and I love biking and hiking. Gardening and caring for our woodland are two of my hobbies. I also love reading, especially on the beach, and bird watching. My husband and I enjoy playing golf together. We have a dog: Mia, a spunky rescue pup who loves lounging on the couch. Teaching is my passion, and I love coming to work every day.
