Using YouTube in the classroom

Images
What you need to know:
1) Using your own photos is always a great idea. No need to worry about copyright issues.
2) Permission trumps everything. If you get permission from someone to use an image that is great. You would usually still need to give attribution and cite the image (show their name or the URL).
3) Public domain photos are copyright free. You can use them for any purpose and you do not need to cite them. You must make sure a photo is in the public domain to use it with no credit given - some websites below have public domain images.
4) If a site has "royalty-free" images that means you do not need to purchase the images. You still need to cite them in your project.

ANY IMAGE NOT IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN NEEDS TO BE CITED IN YOUR PROJECT EITHER IN SMALL PRINT ON THE IMAGE OR AT THE END OF YOUR PROJECT ON A CREDIT SLIDE!!

Photos For Class - a great photo search engine that gives you images that are copyright free. Images also include citations when you click on them.
Google Images - Click "Settings" on the bottom right corner of the screen. Choose Advanced Search, then scroll down to usage rights and select "Creative Commons"
