Overlapping circles

You can make a design by just using circles. See the pictures and instructions below. Have fun and send me a picture!

Step 1. Find some circle shapes you can trace. It can be a roll of masking tape, or any kind of can. What other circle shapes can you find to trace? Use different items for a variety of circle sizes. A compass or stencil will work too.

Step 2. Using your pencil, trace the bottom of your circle shape on the paper. You can start in the middle of the page, or anywhere you want.

Step 3. Move your circle shape so it overlaps with your first circle, and then use your pencil to trace it again.

Step 4: Keep moving the circle shape to overlap with the circles on the paper. Trace the circle as you move it around the page. By doing this on the whole page, you will create an original design. You can trace the circles with pencil first and then outline them, or you can trace the circles using your outline marker. Do the first few in pencil to practice!

Step 5. Color in all the different sections of the circles with colors. You can use crayons, markers, colored pencils or paint. I didn't get to finish coloring mine yet!
