Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself!

Welcome Duzine Families,

I am so happy and excited for the new school year!

At Duzine, we prioritize Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)  because we recognize the importance of forming positive relationships and being connected to others. We aim to have students understand, honor and love themselves and demonstrate empathy and compassion for others. As Duzine’s school social worker this vision is very important to me and something I strive toward every day in my work with students.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and the services I provide. I am your child’s school social worker. I am are here at Duzine full-time and can be reached by calling (845) 256-4376. This year marks my 22nd year at Duzine!

As Duzine’s social worker, I provide individual and group counseling for students with IEPs and 504 Plans. I can also meet with any student who is experiencing social-emotional difficulties in school.

For the past several years, I have been “pushing into” classrooms monthly to provide lessons on personal safety/self-care, identifying feelings, self regulation/coping strategies, perseverance, empathy and compassion. I absolutely love working with all of our students. They are constantly impressing me with their insights about feelings and behaviors. I look forward to our very thoughtful monthly discussions.

At Duzine, we also provide support groups (such as Banana Splits or Worry Warriors). I serve as a resource to parents. Please feel free to reach out to me with any social-emotional questions or concerns.

Best wishes for a healthy, happy, and socially connected school year!
