Videos

Popcorn!

Recommended for grades PK-2. A fun movement based video with different ways to feel the beat!

Writing Lyrics

Recommended grades: 3 and 4. Have you ever wanted to learn a little about how song writers create the words to go with their music? Then this pre-recorded virtual field trip is for you!

"Music Time" at home with Olaf

Cute video for all Olaf fans out there! See if you can name the instruments he tries to play.

Peter and the Wolf

I highly recommend this ballet version of Peter and the Wolf by the Royal Ballet/The Royal Ballet School. The dancers are very good, and the narrator is wonderful!

When we are in class, I usually ask questions like "How does (this character) feel?, How do you know?" Each character is represented by an instrument, and this is a fun way to learn what each instrument sounds like, and begin to learn musical expression!

Recommended grades: 1-4. It's 30 minutes long, so watching it in 10-15 minute pieces may be better for younger students. Fair warning though, some parts may be a little scary for young students (but don't worry, it all works out in the end!)

Music in Italy

People in Italy are lightening their spirits by making music together from their homes! This is starting to spread everywhere, but here is a lovely video of Italy.

A friendly reminder

This made me smile, I hope it does the same for you :-)

Pete the Cat

One of my favorites from Pete the Cat. Get up, and dance around in your favorite shoes, or no shoes at all because....it's all good!

Clarinet Update

I've decided to dedicate a week or so to getting better at each instrument while at home.... it turns out I may need more than a week for clarinet!

Trombone Shorty

Check out this great read aloud videos of one of my favorite musicians, Trombone Shorty! Also enjoy a couple videos below of some of his music.
