Instruments!
Hello 4th graders! Normally at this time of the school year we would be testing instruments to find the best instrument for you to play in band next fall. That's not something we can do right now, but it doesn't mean we can't start talking about instruments! Let's start learning about instruments now so when the time comes to decide what's best for you, you'll be ready. Here are some videos to help you learn more about each instrument in band:
Percussion
Someone who plays percussion plays all percussion instruments! We start on the bells (the small metal xylophone in this video), and you also learn snare drum, bass drum, and many different percussion instruments.
Brass
We have a very similar instrument called a baritone. This is a good instrument to choose if you want to play the tuba someday!
Brass
Though we do not have any tubas in beginning band, you can start on baritone if you want to play tuba later!
