Summer Bucket List
How it works:
Complete three out of five challenges to be entered to win an Amazon gift card in September. Free books will be given to participants on a first come, first served basis in June. All completed challenges can be turned in:
- via email to bbuckenroth@newlebanoncsd.org
- shared on Instagram @newlebanonhs
- you can hand in paper copies of all challenges at the end of the summer to Mrs. Buckenroth.
Winners will be drawn the first week we return to school.
Challenge #1: Amusement Park
Try a graphic novel. Summarize the story in a brief comic strip. You can draw it or use this website: https://www.makebeliefscomix.com/. Here's a link to print out a blank comic strip template: Blank comic template
Challenge #2: Camping
Nonfiction challenge - Try a recipe from a cookbook or a DIY (do-it-yourself) project from a craft book. Take a picture of your masterpiece and share it on instagram or email it to Mrs. Buckenroth
Challenge #3: Drive-In
Read a book that has been or will soon be turned into a movie and make an brief book trailer using Animoto. OR make a list of actors who should play the main roles in one of your favorite books. Suggest a city or place that would make a good place/setting to film the movie, as well. You can use Animoto for this option as well.
Challenge #4: Beach
Take a selfie with a book. You need to be outside and the selfie needs a caption describing where you are.
Challenge #5: Visit family
Draw a picture or digitally create a map of a place/setting from a book you’d love to visit. Make sure to give the title of the book you are referencing.
