Christian and Elisabeth Arnold are missionary affiliates of New International to serve as global youth workers. They moved to Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland in 2022 and live there with their two kids, Caspian and Clementine. They want young people to have a living, active faith rooted in the truth of Christ. As youth workers, they enjoy pursuing creative opportunities to reach young people in a place that is often overlooked and ambivalent to the gospel. This includes teaching in schools, hosting worship nights, serving in after-school drop-ins, and running monthly "LEGO Church" gatherings. Supporting the local church is also a key aspect of their ministry.
Christian has a heart for connecting God's people with His Word. He supports local churches by preaching and serves the local university campus as a chaplain. Christian spends much of his time partnering with and encouraging youth workers in the city and the northwest of the island. Christian is also on the TCK (Third Culture Kid) care team at New International, serving missionary families.
Elisabeth has a passion for empowering youth to make a difference for God's Kingdom. She spends most of her time in teaching roles - leading Bible studies in the local church and serving schools by leading Bible-based assemblies and religious education support.Â
Derry/Londonderry is the second-largest city in Northern Ireland. This city has a complex history of conflict that is interwoven with politics, religion, and communal identity. While the tumultuous issues and hardships of The Troubles are unavoidable, the city also has a vibrant and lively spirit. The people of Derry/Londonderry are desperate for peace, and we believe that the Prince of Peace is ready to meet that need.
Prayer is foundational for any ministry.
Here are some prayer points that you can pray over the Arnolds:
- Pray for wisdom as they invest their time and resources into their community
- Pray for protection and peace from any spiritual attacks that seek to disrupt and discourage
- Pray for them to feel God's provision through those around them and in their financial support
- Pray for their children who are being raised in this cross-cultural life
- Pray for the hearts of young people to be open to receiving the Gospel
- Pray for the Arnolds to continue to receive favor in their community that could only come from God
Thank you so much for your prayers. You can keep up to date with specific ministry prayer requests by subscribing to the Arnold's newsletter list.
