Reclassification is the upgrading of a position to a higher class as a result of the increase of the duties and/or responsibilities being performed by the incumbent in such position, or to meet the evolving change in the original job classification. New job classifications may need to be developed throughout the school year. In the event that this need is identified as a result of the reclassification process, the parties agree to negotiate over the job description and salary placement of any new job classification created. Reclassification requests shall be submitted in writing no later than May 1 of each year. A unit member, CSEA, or the District may petition for a reclassification. Reclassification of any employee or job class shall be negotiated and subject to mutual written agreement between the District and CSEA.
