What is required?

Terms

Terms - All 45. If I have taught you the past year, you all should have these 45 terms memorized and be able to apply them to the music you are learning, reading, and performing. If you have a question about one, just ask!

Scales

Scales - If you can play your scales by memory, you can play ANY piece of music you want and I do many ANY piece of written music.

Scales can be played using any type of notation such as eighths, triplets, etc, however, they must be played using the ranges provided, otherwise they will be judged as incorrect. Click the links below to view the scales for each instrument, then print them out for use. (Knowing what scale matches to what key signature helps as well.)

Solo

Solo - Learning to play a challenging solo really steps up your game. It requires patience and taking baby steps (breaking it down and learning it slowly --> like 60 BPM.) Learn the rhythms. Learn the notes. Mark in your music to help you like ticking where the beat is; circling a flat, sharp, natural, or accidental; and dynamics. Do not write your notes in.
