Teaching Philosophy
All students are given my automatic respect and understanding that they have varying academic needs, but the end goal is the same; to work towards progress every day. I strive to create a rigorous environment that is filled with life and laughter while providing a space for students to share their thinking and collaborate with peers through an inquiry centered approach. I firmly believe a classroom where students feel safe and accepted is a classroom that thrives. I am passionate about providing students with the tools to create opportunities for themselves through reading and writing.

About me
I was born and raised in the Bay Area, living in Union City for most of my life. Newark was basically my backyard and I spent a lot of time here, it is amazing to see how much has changed! After getting my A.A. degrees in Human Development, Social Science, and Sociology, I went to UC Davis to get a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Education. After that, I attended CSU East Bay to get my English teaching credential!
I love being active, watching football, walking my corgi, and trying new places to eat with my favorite people. When I have the time, I enjoy getting cozy with a good book and a cup of coffee. Most of all, I love building relationships with my students and getting to spread joy and laughter throughout our days together.
