Los artistas de primer grado hablaron sobre el trabajo de Takashi Murakami. Los artistas eligieron sus herramientas artísticas para ayudarlos a reconceptualizar su famosa flor arcoíris.
WHO INSPIRED US?
Takashi Murakami is a Japanese contemporary artist, sometimes called the "Andy Warhol of Japan". We learned he originally wanted to be an animator therefore a lot of his work is inspired by anime, manga, and cartoons! Murakami founded the artistic movement called superflat; we discovered two characteristics of superflat art are bold lines and flat colors.
WHAT DID WE ANALYZE?
One of Murakami's most iconic figures is his smiling rainbow flower. Murakami’s fascination with flowers first began during the 1980s when he worked as a school teacher! As an artistic exercise, he would buy fresh flowers for his students to draw.
Artists in 1st grade challenged themselves to recreate this iconic piece.
What do you see, think, and wonder?
Artists in 1st grade enjoyed analyzing some of Murakami's other works featuring a self-portrait and two of his other fun characters.
Artist saw the iconic smiling flower, the Japanese writing, and loved the colors and cartoonish style of these two pieces.
