Endowed scholarships are a wonderful way to ensure the legacy of yourself or a loved one will continue to benefit Nevada R-5 students in perpetuity. An initial investment of $10,000 is required to establish and endowed scholarship through the foundation. Endowed scholarships maintained by the Nevada R-5 Foundation and are invested and managed by a professional money management firm. Any financial decisions are made by the Nevada R-5 Foundation Board of Directors.
Annual scholarships are awarded every year and are from money that is not invested in an endowed fund. Money for annual scholarships is due by April 1 of the calendar year. Scholarships are not awarded to seniors in May unless the money has been submitted to the Nevada R-5 Foundation by April 1.
These scholarships are a great option for people or organizations who are looking to make one-time gift in their name. Alumni class reunion collections, memorial contributions, and paying-it-forward birthday gifts are all examples of one-time scholarships. If you are interested in contributing a one-time scholarship, please contact the Nevada R-5 Foundation and have your money submitted by April 1 for your scholarship to be awarded at the May Senior Recognition Night.
A memorial scholarship can be a beautiful way to honor the life of your loved one. Scholarships can be given one time or you can set up a recurring scholarship that will be awarded in perpetuity, remembering your loved one every year. Memorial scholarships may be established immediately by suggesting memorial contributions be made to the Nevada R-5 Foundation in the name of the recently deceased or you may take your time and make financial arrangements with the foundation after a time of grief. If you would like to contact the foundation with questions or to find out any information about setting up a memorial scholarship, please do so here.
