ENG 106: Composition II is the second course in Elmhurst University's two-semester composition course sequence. ENG 106 advances students’ academic literacy—your ability to use writing for learning and inquiry, communicate effectively to diverse audiences, critically analyze and synthesize complex texts, and construct logical, persuasive arguments using scholarly sources.

ENG 106 students gain information literacy by learning to assess and use academic research materials and facilities. ENG 106 must be taken for a letter grade to meet the First-Year Writing Developmental Requirement of the Integrated Curriculum. Prerequisite(s): ENG 105 or transfer equivalent, an acceptable score on the Elmhurst University Writing Placement Test, or qualifying ACT/SAT scores.
