The TUCS Scholarship Fund was founded in 1988 with an initial generous donation of $10,000 by Mary Hellofs. Mary was a teacher, author, musician and painter who taught in the Tisdale School Division from 1956 until her retirement in 1975. She loved children and it was her dream that all students, regardless of financial restraints, have an opportunity to continue their education and fulfill their academic goals. The fund was renamed "TMSS Scholarship Fund" in 1999. 

A Vision for the Future

Those presently serving on the TMSS Scholarship Committee envision a day when the Scholarship Fund may be self perpetuating.  At present, we rely on memorial, organization and personal donations (large and small) from alumni and community-minded individuals for whom post-secondary education is a priority.  Over $20,000 is presented annually to members of the graduating class of TMSS.
