There is a slight delay in putting up calendars for the 23-24 school year. Please check back soon!
This all-in-one option for VR Expeditions 2.0 is a "carry-in/carry-out" booking. A Model Schools team member will coordinate your tour with you - this includes pre-loading the tour, setting up VR equipment, assistance with running the tour, and clean up. This is a 30-minute to one-hour appointment.

If you enjoyed Google Expeditions and want to take your students on virtual field trips, you can give this option a try! There is a long and growing list of available tours. We have a set of 25 student devices with one teacher device for both Albany and the North Country!
Great tool for young students to begin to understand the fundamentals of coding. Buttons on top make the robot go forward, back, left and right. You can borrow mats or make your own!
Great tool for young students to begin to understand the fundamentals of coding. Buttons on top make the robot go forward, back, left and right. You can borrow mats or make your own! The Blue-Bot also connects to devices using Bluetooth, so it is like the Bee-Bot, but with an app or Tactile Reader component.
Bring your programming fun outside! Imagine a tougher and outdoor-friendly Blue-Bot, and you have Tuff-Bot the Rugged Robot! You can use one of the three settings for speed on different terrain. Great for indoor use too - send your robot down the hallway! Just like Blue-Bot, you can program using the buttons on top, an app or the Tactile Reader. It even has sensors even help it avoid obstacles!
This is an excellent option for young students to begin to understand the fundamentals of coding - recommended for the youngest students it has lots of possibilities! This is a totally "no screens" activity that can be customized to incorporate the arts as well! With big wooden blocks, it appeals to young learners who enjoy building and tinkering. Just create the robot with the components you want, build the code with the blocks, and then scan and run it.
The indi was voted one of Time Magazine's Best Inventions of 2021 and now Model Schools has a set to lend out! Our set of 8 adorable cars comes with Challenge Cards and color mats, and is great for teaching coding fundamentals. You do not need any devices to use them other than what comes in the kit.
Cubelets allow students to create their own robots by combining different types of blocks (robots that sense, think and act). Add in the colorful Think Blocks, and student can make a wide variety of inventions. Lesson plans are available, but students can also just play, build discover and explore.
Dash can move around, record your voice, sing, dance and be programmed using block-based coding using its own form of Blockly. Dash is great for group activities including navigating mazes! Dot (optional add-on) can be described as "the brains of a robot" and can be used to teach coding concepts.
A next-level version of Dash! Cue kicks coding up a notch as it is designed just for the middle school level. From the same company that created Dash., Cue helps students continue with block-based coding while transitioning them into text-based programming skills with JavaScript. These robots also have a lot of personality!
Ozobot Bits are tiny robots with wheels that can be programmed in two different ways! Younger students can be introduced to the concepts of coding by using markers to program Ozobots with no screens! Then there is OzoBlockly, where code can be entered and flashed to the robot for even more coding skill.
This great entry-level robot is great for teaching coding fundamental skills, and like its "big sibling" the Sphero, it also turns colors and has a gyroscope, accelerometer sensors and more! You can use the fun Sphero Play app to get started, and move up to block or text-based coding when your students are ready! This robot comes with Activity Cards and many accessories for building challenges.
Our Sphero SPRK+ kits have been retired, and we now have a Sphero BOLT 15-pack in both Albany and the North Country! Check out this short video and reserve today - they are awesome!
A set of 5 all-terrain hackable and customizable robot vehicles with roll bar, expansion plate and a variety of sensors! This is great for tech classes and experimentation!
Strawbees STEAM Classroom is a huge building set of various straws and connectors that make building and idea creation possible! Have students create a rollercoaster track or a pyramid - there are so many options! Take your inventions to the next level with optional add-ons.
For previous collaborators that remember Ricky (the original), Yoda or Natasha, we now have our most updated and advanced NAO robot yet - so of course we called it GOAT!
GOAT is a humanoid robot from SoftBank Robotics that walks on two legs, talks, gestures, dances and shows "emotions" with LED lights. While we are not lending GOAT right now, this robot can make a visit to your school or classroom. Learn more about NAO - https://www.softbankrobotics.com/emea/en/nao.
Showing students a highly advanced robot can be useful for:
Introducing a robotics or engineering lesson
Discussing careers in robotics
Holding a fun demo to gain student interest in robotics
Kicking off or a STEAM event
And more!
These creative circuit kits can be excellent for classroom projects or STEAM events! Make the famous banana piano and much more! We have a few in both Albany and the North Country. Teachers can also borrow one to just try it out!
Escape room kits are so much fun! Note that there can be a good amount of setup involved with physical Breakout kits as opposed to online escape rooms. Kits are available for anyone wishing to take this on! Multiple kits at once are available if needed.
List of free Breakouts (subject to change)
Especially with our drone soccer league coming up, we know it is important to create interest in drones early. We have indoor drones that you will be able to borrow for club activities!
If you are starting an esports club or would like to gage student gaming interest, we have a limited number of Switches available. Districts should anonymize data.
