The NHS Choral Program is a well-rounded program that features both strong show choirs and concert choirs.
There is a place for everyone!
**You do not have to audition for Wildcat Chorale.***
Choraleers-Competitive Advanced Mixed Show Choir (auditioned)
Sugar & Spice- Competitive Intermediate Treble Show Choir (auditioned)
Phenomenon- Competitive Intermediate Bass Show Choir (auditioned)
Cecilian Choir- Advanced Mixed Concert Choir (auditioned)
Concert Choir- Intermediate Treble Concert Choir (auditioned)
Wildcat Chorale- Beginning 9-12 grade Concert Choir (non-auditioned). Anyone can sign up for this class without an audition!
Other classes offered:
Vocal Techniques- This class focuses on music literacy and solo technique for students who are also enrolled in one of the auditioned choirs. This class can be taken as either a semester or year-long course and can be repeated. This class is extremely helpful for those wanting to audition for honor choirs and perform solos at competition!
Music Collective- This class focuses creating music, learning the literacy tools to facilitate the creation process, and working with other students to learn new musical styles and composition methods. Students will be expected to be self-motivated and willing to practice during class on a daily basis. The only pre-requisite is that students be able to play an instrument, sing, or create digital music at a basic level.

Meet the teachers!
Mrs. Soule
Mrs. Soule is in her 19th year of teaching, and her 13th year at NHS. She teaches Choraleers, Cecilian, Phenomenon, Wildcat Chorale, Vocal Techniques, and assists with Sugar & Spice. Mrs. Soule also often helps to organize district and state honor choirs and serves on the state executive board for the Missouri Choral Directors' Association.
Mr. Benham
Mr. Benham will be returning to teach Sugar & Spice, Concert Choir, Cecilian Choir, Music Collective, Phenomenon. He will also be choreographing both Sugar & Spice and Phenomenon!
