This class focuses on music literacy (sight reading & music theory) and solo singing technique for students also enrolled in one of the auditioned choirs. This class can be taken as either a semester or year-long course and can be repeated. This class is extremely helpful for those wanting to audition for honor choirs and perform solos at competition!
All Vocal Tech students are required to audition for All-District Choir in September, either perform in the fall musical or be a member of the crew, and prepare a solo for contest in the spring.
In addition to preparing for solo performances, we also do several other fun projects throughout the year! Projects will be decided based on the individual interests of the students in each class. Examples of past projects are designing show choir shows, creating and performing contemporary a cappella arrangements, and creating and performing medleys/mashups of popular songs using both voices and instruments.
