Read the question TWICE and use Polly to help. First, read the problem through to determine what is being asked. Then, on the second read-through, start identifying useful or unnecessary information.
Write down key numbers and information on your paper instead of trying to keep all the numbers in your head. Sometimes, you may want to draw a picture to help.
Think about units: the short answer problems often tell you what units to use; make sure your solution matches the units asked for in the problem.
Answer the question directly: Is he correct? Is this reasonable? Which option should they choose? Make sure you directly answer the problem being asked before explaining why.
Show your work: if you did a calculation, type it. If you are using number from a graph, use numbers from BOTH axis in your explanation.
Use the information given: do not use your personal experiences to justify, use only the information from the problem.
