To gain an NCEA qualification at Level 1, 2 or 3, your child will also need to show that they have foundational reading, writing, and numeracy skills. They do that by achieving the NCEA literacy and numeracy co-requisite.
Students must pass these tests in literacy and numeracy to get their NCEA qualifications.

All students will need to have access to their own laptop with Chrome or Safari.
We highly recommend students bring a pair of headphones that can connect to their device, so they have access to Polly, a text-to-speech technology built into the platform.
For the Numeracy exam, bringing a calculator is essential. Having their own that they are familiar with is very beneficial.
They can practice using the platform by logging in to their NZQA account and selecting 'Practice Past Assessments' on the left-hand side of the screen.
