6TH GRADE SCIENCE

In 6th grade, our science classroom is a hands-on lab where your own questions drive our investigations. Instead of just reading from a book, you will solve real-world mysteries across four main topics: Light & Matter, Thermal Energy, Weather & Climate, and Metabolic Reactions. You’ll act like a true scientist by participating in fun labs and stations that build your skills in investigating and critical thinking. To share your discoveries, we use a writing structure called Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER) to show exactly how you solved each mystery. It’s all about moving from asking "why" to proving "how" the world works!

7TH GRADE SCIENCE

In 7th grade, we dive even deeper into science by putting your curiosity at the center of every lesson. Our year is built around four exciting topics: Chemical Reactions, Matter Cycling & Photosynthesis, Ecosystems, and Earth’s History. You’ll spend much of your time in lab stations, conducting experiments to figure out how substances change and how energy moves through our world. We will continue to sharpen your skills in investigating and critical thinking as you tackle more complex scientific puzzles. Just like in 6th grade, you will use Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER) to prove your findings and explain the "how" behind the science!

8TH GRADE SCIENCE

In 8th grade, we take everything you’ve learned and apply it to the biggest mysteries of the universe and our own biology. Our year is built around four powerful topics: Contact Forces, Sound Waves, Genetics, and Natural Selection. You will spend your time in lab stations investigating how energy moves through waves and how traits are passed down through generations. We will continue to sharpen your skills in investigating and critical thinking as you tackle these advanced scientific puzzles. By using the Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER) writing structure, you will prove your findings and leave 8th grade ready to take on high school science!
