Hello! I am Jessica Sparrow. My husband, David, and I have been married since 2007. We have three kids (two sons and one daughter). My family enjoys sporting events, playing games together, reading, and watching television. We are usually at one ball field or another.
I LOVE to read, paint, watch TV, listen to podcasts and audiobooks, and spend time with my wonderful family when I am not in the library media center or teaching. I am a graduate of NCHS – Class of 1998. I also love to learn. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Kentucky Wesleyan College in Social Studies Secondary Education. The University of Kentucky granted me a Master’s as a Reading Specialist. I then received my Rank I in Gifted and Talented Education from Campbellsville University. I completed my coursework through Eastern Kentucky University in Library Science and earned my certification. I have worked for Nelson County Schools since 2003 and love this community! I am a proud member of the Kentucky Education Association, Kentucky Library Association, Kentucky Association of School Librarians, Kentucky Association of School Technology, American Library Association, and American Association of School Librarians. I currently serve as Vice President on the KAST Board and Past President of KASL 4th District. I also serve on the 2027 KBA Selection Committee for grades 9-12. I presented at the AASL National Conference in Tampa, Florida, in the fall of 2023, and will again at the National Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, in the fall of 2025.
