With the help of several community partners, FRYSC was able to assist 51 families with Thanksgiving meals and 50 plus families with Christmas Holiday Assistance. Thank you to all of our community partners who make this possible each year!
Family Resource partnered with PTO to host the Cookies with Santa event. Free coats and books were given away by FRYSC.
Family Resource partnered with Operation Warm to provide 120 coats for the Neighborly FRC Center. FRC set up during Cookies with Santa to provide these free coats to student who needed them.

Passion Ignite is a special event for our 3rd-5th grade students to discover new interests and learn about different careers. Community members will lead these fun, hands-on, and informative sessions, which will last for an hour and a half. It’s our version of a Career Day!
Family Resource started a new program this year to provide warm fall/winter clothing to students who needed extra support before the holiday season. This program provided 46 kids with 2 outfits, a pair of shoes, and a spirit wear hoodie. Family Resource partnered with community members who sponsored the students and brought the items to the center to be distributed. Family Resource plans on providing this service 2 times a year as long as community members are willing to partner with FRYSC to serve our community.

If so, we wanted to let you know that there are resources and programs out there that can help support you. Our Caregiver Support Conference was created to do just that! We held our 3rd annual Caregiver Support Conference September 21st. This is a relaxed and stress-free setting where we can share resources and programs available to our Nelson County families.

Family Resource was able to secure enough books to celebrate each student for their birthday this year by providing a free book to every student.
Family Resource joined in on the Husky Spirit and coached Cheerleading this year along with Coach Keene, Boone, and Downs. So far this year we have had 4 teams of girls cheer on K-5 grade girls basketball. We will continue this program into the boys season. Watching our Huskies shine on and off the court has been amazing! Go Lady Huskies!
Over 600 in attendance this year for the Grandfriends Event. Grands and their students enjoyed an ice cream social, along with a picture frame and rock painting craft. Family Resource provided a photo booth for some memory making, along with a picture frame craft.
Big Smiles continues to service students during the school day in the building so that students do not have to miss a day of school. Students receive dental cleanings, fillings, and extended dental work. Big Smiles has been scheduled to come back throughout the year and is already scheduled for the 24-25 Spring Session. If you would like to sign your student up please contact Family Resource. If you previously signed your student up for services, but would no longer like to be seen, please contact Family Resource as the permission form is good for 18 months of services from date of initial signature from guardian.
Nelson County School's 3rd Annual Back to School Bash was held on August 3rd, 11 am - 2 pm at Old Kentucky Home Middle School. This event is provided by the Nelson County School's FRYSC team and is separate from back-to-school bashes at each individual school.
FHES Family Resource has teamed up with the Administration Team to provide incentives for early registration students. The first classroom from each grade level that completes registration by April 23rd with 100% will receive a pizza party from Family Resource. Every class that completes registration by April 23rd with 100% completion will receive a popsicle party! The first class that reaches 100% registration from each grade level will win their teacher an extra planning provided by FRYSC. One lucky student will be drawn for an Amazon Fire Tablet.

Our Husky Families came out in force during our School-Wide Winterfest February 2. Fun was had by all. Congratulations to all the winners throughout the night. Here are just a few of the highlights from that evening.

Nelson County Staff worked together with several community partners to provide meals for families during Nelson County Schools shutdown days. Family Resource met with staff to make and deliver meals, along with 5 pick-up locations throughout the district.
Big Smiles continues to service students during the school day in the building so that students do not have to miss a day of school. FRYSC set up a booth to join in the Fall Pride Games. Some even joined the Kick Ball Tournament. Families were welcome to stop in and get information on all things FRYSC and students could win a cold treat and get some face paint spirit wear.
Family Resource hosted the GRANDFriends Event in which GRAND's or Loved ones were invited to come and share in a fun-filled evening of activities with their littles. The activities included rock painting,interviews, photo frame making, & pictures, along with an Ice Cream Social. We hope to continue this tradition for many years to come.

Every year FRYSC partners with several community partners and staff to provide supplemental holiday assistance. This year FRYSC also partnered with the Husky Community Leaders (student Passion Ignite Group) to collect items to provide Holiday Food Baskets for Families in need.

Big Smiles came twice to see kiddos that signed up for dental cleanings, fillings, and extended dental work. Big Smiles has been scheduled to come back at the beginning of the 2023 school year.

FRYSC Fall Passion Ignite consisted of students from 3rd-5th Grade that signed up for the Husky Community Leader Passion. In this Passion students learned how their small contributions to their community made a HUGE impact for others. Student held multiple donation drivers for such programs as Holiday Food Assistance, Husky Food Pantry, Hygiene Items, and needed items for a local Animal Shelter.
