Film and writing
For the past 20 years, I have been an active member of the Chicago Film Critics Association. During that time, I have written for RogerEbert.com, Magill's Cinema Annual and eFilmcritic.com. I am also one of the founders and programmers of the Chicago Critics Film Festival, which takes place every year at the historic Music Box Theater.

Video and filmmaking
I was a professional videographer for roughly 10 years. I have done videography work for Winnetka Public Schools, the Chicago Critics Film Festival and a video presskit for a feature film called The World Without You. I have also made two feature-length documentaries and three short films, all of which played at film festivals across the country. I also had my own wedding videography business for about 10 years.

My passion for film has also taken me to the airwaves with a weekly gig on WGN Radio reviewing movies for The Nick Digilio Show, from 2001 - 2019. I have also sat in with Sergio Mims on WHPK FM. I currently co-host a podcast called Christmas Movies Actually where we talk about all kinds of Christmas movies (old and new, popular and obscure, great and awful).
