The Legacy Guard Unarmed Drill Team specializes in precision drill movements conducted with the hand and body without the use of a rifle. 

Members of the Legacy Guard Unarmed Drill Team compete in Inspection, Regulation, and Exhibition.

Legacy Guard Members must meet the requirements of each of the three phases:

• Inspection: Cadets are asked questions on many different topics such as, current events, first aid, military regulations and many more! They are judged on how many questions they answer correctly, uniform and military appearance, professionalism, and abidance with army regulations. 

• Regulation: In this phase, the drill team conducts a military style marching sequence. The cadets are judged on how well they execute the commands, synchronization, precision of movements, and abidance with army regulations. 

• Exhibition: The drill team performs a routine that they create and perfect by themselves. Members also wear a different uniform than the Army Service Uniform (ASU) for this phase. This is the most creative event in a drill meet. The team is judged on synchronization, creativity, precision of movements, and military presence but it is fairly subjective and depends on what the judges prefer. 

• Upon joining a drill team, cadets are automatically promoted to the rank of C/Corporal, and receive a Class A Uniform, a Drill Team ribbon, and a wall locker double the size of a normal locker.
