Honors and GT English
This week we will continue working on our Nonfiction unit. Students will work on informational articles, writing responses that demonstrate knowledge on the topic, identifying the controlling idea/thesis, and evidence presented in the article. Students will learn about the ACE method, and they will be using this strategy for their short-constructed responses.

7th grade math honors
Proportional functions went well last week and this week we will learn about non proportional functions. Students will learn about slope and y-intercept and how to graph a line.
Algebra I
This week we students will learn how to write the equation of parallel and perpendicular lines. Same slope and inverse reciprocal slope will be explained and practiced.
Tutoring hours are currently posted in google classroom.

This week we are going back to reteach and review some of our prior knowledge to solidfy our solar system and changing earth portions of this unit. Your students grade are being updated every Thursday and if you have any questions or concerns please make sure you are emailing me (akocen@neisd.net) and not Mrs. Flowers as she is no longer your student's teacher. Tutoring hours are also now avalible by appointment only and are offered during lunch MTWF.

Students will learn about filibusters, people who would illegally come into Texas and wage war against Spain. Their goals were to gain money and try and free Texas from Spanish rule.

Students have dived into learning the graphic design principles. They learned what they are, their definitions, identified real world exmaples and now they are applying their knowledge. This week students will be creating their own cereal or magazine cover using the graphic design principles they've learned.

Students will explore and practice portrait lighting. Students will take photos and edit using Lightroom. They will present their portraits to their client in a portfolio. Possible guest speakers, two San Antonio Photographers, on 10/4.
