This marks my last newsletter! :-( I am so thankful for the last 7 years at DATA and am blessed to have had the chance to teach so many of your children!!! As most of you are aware, I have accepted the position as the District GT Instructional Specialist and this is my last week in the classroom. We have hired a fantastic teacher, Ms. Azure Kocenko aka Ms. K, to take over 7th grade Science. She recently moved back to TX from Florida and is excited to take over. Please welcome her when you see her!!
The MAP system had some nationwide issues on Wednesday and we were not able to test Math until Thursday 9/5, so Science is being moved until MONDAY 9/9! This is used as a baseline to see what the students know, IT IS NOT A GRADE!! The goal moving forward is to improve their understanding and ultimately their scores as the year goes on!!
